WE WALK TO HONOR PAT GRANGE AND THE GRANGE FAMILY. Patrick Grange loved the game of soccer. Growing up in Albuquerque with two older brothers, Pat was a standout club and high school player and became a key player for the University of Illinois-Chicago Flames, New Mexico Lobos, and Albuquerque Asylum semi-pro team.
More importantly, Pat was a great friend and supporter of soccer in our community. Pat and his family devoted time to the sport through coaching, motivating children, and promoting the sport. As a coach at the International Indoor Soccer Arena in Albuquerque and for NMYSA ODP Summer Camps, Pat helped younger players learn and enjoy the game of soccer. Pat’s brother, Casey, coached many years at La Cueva in the women's program, making our cause ever more important.
Pat was only 28 years old when he was diagnosed with ALS. He lost his fight with ALS less than two years later. Each year, La Cueva’s coaches and players walk in Pat’s memory and to honor the Grange family’s contributions to New Mexico soccer.

ABOUT ALS
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
