In Memory -- Jose G. Sedillo
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grand father. He taught us how to live with integrity and die with dignity. There was nothing more important to him than his faith in God and his family. Our Dad played his guitar beautifully every chance he got which was always accompanied with his amazing singing voice. Our home was always filled with love, laughter, and music. Unfortunately, singing and guitar playing were some of the first of many gifts to be taken away from my Dad by Lou Gehrig’s Disease. It began with slurred speech, coughing, tripping, and fatigue. It took a few years for him to get a diagnosis. Towards the end when he was having trouble getting around on his own he continued to attend Sunday mass and was an inspiration to many in his church community. He used his communication device to joke around and put people around him at ease. In the early stages of his disease he would often fall down when his legs would give out. Dad would keep his sense of humor and say “I almost caught that rabbit”. He seldom allowed himself to wallow in sorrow. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that it’s been 11 years since this terrible disease took our Dad’s life. He touched the lives of so many people during his lifetime. The church was brimming with people for his funeral. This was a testament to the kind of person he was during his life. He is always on our minds and in our hearts. Our Patriarch is missing but he taught us well so I know we’ll do him proud. Until we meet again Dad. Keep singing in the Angel Choir.
